RAin believes passionately in social justice. Recently adding a Master’s degree in Theology to her collected knowledge from the same alma mater as Dr. King & Howard Thurman, RAin believes in the exponential potential of the human soul. Catharsis via creative arts is our road to spiritual freedom. Each soul deserves space to exist in poetic communion with the Divine. Imagine the harmony of a world that allowed space for this level of existence. RAin believes together we can and will achieve this collective potential.

Vickie Plummer

Vickie Plummer has always been a late bloomer in life. From not getting her driver’s license until she was 21 years old to not hitting her growth spurt until after high school. Why wouldn’t her standup comedy career be any different?

She did standup from 2000 until 2007 in NYC. But decided to take a “short break” that became a 12-year hiatus.

Coming back in January 2019 meant starting all over. But Vickie is a fighter and battled her way back from cancer and other life-threatening medical issues. She uses humor to poke fun at the weird things that have shaped her life, this was one more challenge accepted!

2019: Semi-Finalist in the Empire State Stand Up Showdown; Second-Round Finisher in National Jeanne Robertson Humor Competition
2020: Burbank Comedy Festival (Best of Fest); Plano Comedy Fest; Palm Springs Intl Comedy Fest; New South Comedy Fest

After having our doors closed since March 2020, with your help, we need to raise $25,000 in our GoFundMe campaign to launch a brand-new festival and lay the foundation for producing more festivals in the future. It will keep us shining brightly again!

The $25,000 raised will be utilized to launch The Voices of Truth Theatre Festival on March 10 to 28, 2021, at Powerstories Theatre, both social-distanced in person and live-streamed worldwide. Funds will be used to purchase new camera equipment, make theatre improvements, implement Covid-19 safety measures, and contract labor fees (technical directors, stage managers, directors), rent, utilities, and marketing.

All dollars raised will help us get us back on track to do what we love and what we do best: giving performers a brightly-lit stage to tell true stories to open minds and hearts.
