Looking back on her remarkable childhood friendship with Charles Dodgson, the shy Oxford mathematics tutor who would become Lewis Carroll, Alice plumbs the mysteries of why the friendship that produced the magic of Wonderland ended abruptly on an afternoon in June 1863.
The historical record, in this case Dodgson’s diary, has been deliberately obscured by Dodgson’s family. And Alice Liddell never spoke publicly about those missing days. So what may have happened?
